North Dakota educators now have access to exciting new educational materials that help students solve mysteries about corn while learning science and STEM concepts.
What Are Mystery of Corn Readers?
These free educational readers were developed through a partnership with Kansas Corn STEM specifically for North Dakota educators. Each reader presents students with a corn-related mystery to investigate and solve.
Four Different Levels
The readers come in four versions to match different grade levels:
- K-1 (Kindergarten to 1st grade)
- 2-5 (2nd to 5th grade)
- 6-8 (6th to 8th grade)
- 9-12 (9th to 12th grade)
Complete Teaching Package
Each reader includes:
- Student materials for investigating mysteries
- Teacher guide
- Supplemental teaching materials
- Alignment with North Dakota educational standards
Many Ways to Use Them
Teachers can use these readers for:
- Substitute teacher activities
- Science or STEM learning time
- Small reading groups or reading centers
- Career exploration
- Fill time after quizzes or tests
- After-school resources
- Stand-alone lessons or with other corn STEM activities

The readers cover topics like:
- “Could It Be Corn?” – exploring corn products

How to Get Them
