The North Dakota Corn Utilization Council approved funding for 22 research projects at its Annual Research Summit on December 9, 2025. These projects will be completed by researchers from North Dakota State University, the University of North Dakota, and the National Agriculture Genotyping Center.
Projects span four categories. In Agronomy, research covers corn diseases, rootworm trapping, phosphorus stratification, herbicide resistance, nitrogen fertilizer recommendations, cover crop integration, and more. Livestock projects explore maternal supplementation and corn-based high-grade feeding impacts on beef cattle. Value-Added research includes acetic acid from corn sugar, Hi-Pro DDG pasta, bioplastics from corn ingredients for agricultural films, and high-volume usage of distillers grains. Other Research Partnerships focus on improving market data infrastructure for ND producers and eliminating barriers to E15 adoption statewide.
