This September, North Dakota Corn is partnering with the U.S. Grains Council and National Corn Growers Association to host a Trade Policy Academy in Fargo.
Trade Policy Academies are designed for growers who want to deepen their understanding of global trade policy, market access, and international advocacy. These academies offer a unique opportunity to engage with experts, gain firsthand insights into current trade dynamics and trade policy history, and develop the skills needed to walk the walk and talk the talk about exports.
“Trade is essential to the long-term success of our farms and rural communities. When we understand how policy, logistics, and partnerships shape global markets, we become better advocates for the corn we grow. Trade Policy Academies give producers the tools and confidence to tell our story, build relationships, and make sure our voices are heard where it matters most,” shares Carson Klosterman, Chairman of the North Dakota Corn Utilization Council.
This academy will feature presentations on the history of trade policy, market development, working with global partners and understanding how grain moves.
By joining a Trade Policy Academy, participants will strengthen their ability to promote trade policies that support American farmers and agribusinesses and connect with peers and experts who are shaping the future of agricultural trade.
Growers will become part of a dedicated network that works to ensure the continued success of U.S. grains in the global marketplace. This experience will equip growers with tools to make a lasting impact.
“Trade Policy Academies are a great way for growers to learn how trade impacts their operations and how their checkoff dollars are making a difference to develop markets and create demand for their products,” said Ellen Zimmerman, director of industry relations for the U.S. Grains Council.
