The Red River Valley Fair opened its doors on June 28, 2024, with a special grand opening of the new and improved Cass County Farm Bureau Agriculture Education Center.
What’s New
The North Dakota Corn Utilization Council helped make several exciting features possible:
- A bright yellow corn floor that visitors can walk on
- Grain bin entrances to the building
- Interactive exhibits about regional agriculture
- Year-round operation capabilities
Bringing the Farm to the City
The center aims to teach fairgoers and families about local agriculture through hands-on experiences. According to William Wagner, NDCUC Vice Chairman and District 3 Representative, “They succeeded in bringing the farm to the city.”
Wagner praised Cody Cashman’s vision for the building, noting how visitors are immediately greeted with agricultural icons as they enter through the grain bin doorways.
Interactive Learning
A highlight of the new center is the Interactive Immersion Room. Families can experience what it’s like to be part of a farm operation, whether it’s grain farming or animal agriculture. During the fair, visitors could even see cows that were due to calve.
Educational Impact
The center helps people learn about North Dakota corn and corn products through interactive exhibits. Visitors walk on a floor made of North Dakota corn while discovering more about agriculture in their region.
The improved Agriculture Education Center represents an investment in agricultural education, making farming knowledge accessible to both city and rural families year-round.
